Setting up gas, electricity and trash in a Daegu officetel — what surprised me
Just moved into an officetel in Daegu. Electricity (KEPCO) and water were already on; I called to put them in my name. City gas needed a separate appointment to open the valve safely — they sent a technician. Biggest shock: you must buy official volume-rate trash bags (종량제 봉투) at convenience stores by district, and food waste goes in a separate bag/bin. Using the wrong bag can get fined. Any tips on recycling days?

Recycling days are per building/villa — ask your landlord or check the notice by the elevator.

For gas, keep the safety inspection sticker — they check it and you need it when you move out.

Food-waste bags are a different color from general trash. Don't mix or it gets left behind.
